Coincidentally, my recent work is directly or indirectly related to the restoration of old photos...
A mixed media artist approached us to print her photographic works from many years ago. The digital files she provided to us were physical photos that she had collected for many years and professionally reproduced by other manufacturers.
She told us that after getting the re-photographed images, it would take at least one or two hours just to remove the dust spots on each photo, which was both tiring and time-consuming!
We nodded our heads and shared some common restoration techniques. The artist was very surprised: "I didn't expect you to be so proficient in Photoshop..." I guess she just wanted to chat, but she didn't expect us to give her feedback, which made her jaw drop...
Many people may not have noticed that photo editing with PS is also part of our daily routine!
Having said that, there is really no shortcut to restoring old photos. Although sufficient PS skills can achieve twice the result with half the effort, the more time you spend, the more complete the photo restoration will be. Therefore, the cost of restoring a photo is sometimes even much higher than the cost of printing!
Thank you Ms. Lin from Sorrento for supporting our old photo reproduction project, allowing us to scan, repair and print different types of old photos. What we want to share with you today are the family travel memories!
The old photos put on new clothes not only regain their former glory, but these precious travel souvenirs reproduced on metal photos also make the dusty memories come alive on paper. We seem to have seen that when the Sorrento family was looking at the metal photos, they unconsciously boarded the time train, revisited the old place, and relived the good times. What a warm scene!
