How are Metallic Impressions printed?

STEP 1. RIP software

Check the details of the image file through professional RIP software to ensure the correctness of the color

STEP 2. Sublimation output machine

Mirror the image left and right and output the work on the transfer paper with a special dye-sublimation output machine

STEP 3. Heat press

Through the heat press, the image on the transfer paper is sublimated into the special surface coating of the aluminum plate

STEP 4. Trimming and framing

A beautiful work was born after careful inspection and matching with proper mounting before production

When printing metal photos, how big of a file do I have to provide?

When the size of the image file is larger, it means the richer the information contained, and the printed metal photos will be more detailed. We recommend using a 300ppi resolution image file to create metal images, and defining 300ppi as the "best pixel". That is to say, when the long-side pixels and wide-side pixels of your file are equal to or greater than the following "best pixels" When the value is set, the quality of the printed photos will be optimal.

Currently, there are many professional AI image processing software that can adjust the image size. The effect depends on the original file content and the calculation method of the software. After many practical verifications, we have found that when the details and clarity of the original image file are sufficient, we can create The result is a metal print that is four times larger than the original file. In other words, the result printed at a resolution of 150ppi is also very acceptable. Therefore, we set the "minimum pixels" to 150ppi to ensure the quality of the finished product. Please note that if the pixels of the file do not reach 150ppi, our system will issue a warning. If you want to continue completing your ordering process, please go to the "Resolution < 150ppi" area to continue ordering.

In particular, we remind you that the image file size and the impact of resolution size on the printing quality of metal prints we recommend here refer to the file size you originally shot, and do not include the use of post-production software to expand or adjust the file size. File size after resolution.

Resolution does not equal image quality

It is worth mentioning that the system cannot determine the quality of the original image file, such as clarity and brightness. Therefore, before uploading the file, we recommend that you enlarge the file to at least 100%-200% on your computer. Check every detail of the drawing in detail to avoid slight discrepancies between the results and your imagination.

Note 1
  • If the file you provide does not include a bleed size, we will enlarge the image proportionally and the part that exceeds the size of the aluminum plate will be cropped.
  • Example A : Printing a 16x24" work. If you provide a 4800x7200px image file, we will enlarge the image file to 4860x7290px. The aluminum plate size is 16"x24", so patterns that exceed the aluminum plate size will not appear in the printing within the finished work.
  • Example B : Printing 16x24" works. If you provide an image file smaller than 4800x7200px, we will first process the image file with professional AI software and then Expand the file to 4800x7200px. If it is estimated that there is no problem in printing, we will further enlarge the image file to 4860x7290px. Patterns that exceed the size of the aluminum plate will not appear in the printed work.
Note 2
  • The above bleed size only includes printing and is applicable to works without outer frames. For works with outer frames, the visible range of the work needs to deduct the front width of the outer frame to get the final appearance of the work.
