Xavier Portela, who just turned into a full-time photographer in 2012, designated ChromaLuxe as the output medium for his important exhibitions. Why does he have a soft spot for ChromaLuxe?
Let's hear his story together!
interview
Xavier Portela tells us why he chose ChromaLuxe
I'm invited as a guest photographer to the International Photography Festival XPOSURE in Sharjah. I wanted my prints to be extremely vibrant, electric, with deep black and deep contrast. So I got in touch with ChromaLuxe because I knew they can do that.
When I arrived at XPOSURE, it's quite amazing because I didn't see the prints before. There were 18 pictures of my GLOW on the usual white wall. I saw the prints and I was like WOW, that was amazing. The colors are so faithful with what i had on my screen....
I was invited to the International Photo Fair in Sharjah and chose ChromaLuxe as the output medium because I wanted my images to be colorful and shocking to the audience. When I arrived at the venue and saw my 18 works for the first time, I thought wow! Awesome, the color of the image is also faithfully presented!
Xavier also shared two interesting observations from the four-day exhibition:
- Because the work is so shiny, many viewers will walk to the side, wanting to see such a thin work, how is the LED backlight hidden behind it, making the work so sparkling? The truth is of course there is no lighting at all, it is the printing effect of ChromaLuxe high-gloss metallic image!
- The exhibition service personnel will come to the exhibition hall every day to wipe the exhibits and keep the surface clean. Because there is glass in front of other photographic works, the service staff sprayed water to wipe the glass. However, since Xavier's work is not separated by glass, the staff directly spray water on the surface of the work and wipe it. Xavier told worried visitors at the scene that ChromaLuxe's ink is transferred to the surface of the aluminum plate, so it is not afraid of rain, humidity, or fingerprints, which is one of the reasons why he chose ChromaLuxe.
He looks forward to exporting his work with ChromaLuxe next time!
Introduction to Photographic Artists
Xavier Portela is a Belgian. Portuguese-born photographer, currently located in Brussels, Belgium, can undertake various photography services and film productions around the world.
Xavier did not come from a photography college. He studied multimedia and web development at school. After graduation, he worked in multimedia development in a company in Belgium. At that time, photography was just a hobby, and he never thought of becoming a professional photographer until 2012. I left my previous job and chose to become a full-time freelance photographer.
Since then, he has not only shot still images, but also made moving films.
